Why do they call a Donkey Jacket a " Donkey Jacket " where did it originate from ?
these jackets have been worn by Builders, construction workers,labourers,coal miners,dockers,steel workers and workmen for years. they are thick black wool with a plastic strip across the shoulders on the back and front of the jacket, usually orange,black or hi-vis yellow colour plastic. sometimes printed with company logo's on. Can you remember them ? Do you own and wear one ?
They were mostly worn by manual workers that did the 'donkey-work'.
