I'm going to install pathways around my house using 1/2" crushed gravel as a walk surface. I want to edge the paths with the same pavers as the driveway. On the driveway I used the retaining strips with spikes to hold the perimiter. How should I tackle this one. I could use the retaining strips on the outside and the crushed gravel should keep them straight on the inside once it's compacted. Or I could dig a trough and set the pavers in mortar or cement. Any ideas on what would be the best?
If the path gets compacted enough, you could set the pavers on end set in concrete. When you place your pavers on end in, half (or more) should be in the ground with additional cement sloped away from the pavers on the non-path side.
