Bass Fishing has undoubtedly captured the imagination of anglers worldwide. Once hunted for food, bass has grown into a multi million dollar business and is essentially hunted for sport today.

Bass fishing in Mexico is a must for fishing enthusiasts. Not only are the fish plentiful but the added beauty offered by a number of Mexico bass fishing destinations gives anglers a double barrel shot of tourist pleasure.

Whether it's fishing on the magnificent Lake El Sato or being a little more adventurous and fishing the deep waters around the Cabo San Lucas, you would have to be a reasonably ordinary angler not to come away with at least one fish!

Lake El Sato has become world renowned amongst bass fishermen as possibly the most productive bass-producing lake anywhere. The lake makes bass fishing in Mexico a mouth-watering experience with the only problem being dragging yourself away when it's time to leave.

For a few hundred dollars, you can experience a couple of days fishing Lake El Sato with many perks thrown in such as meals, drinks, transport to and from the Lake plus bi-lingual boat guides. If you've never fished before, you'll even be given a solid understanding of how and when to apply your bass fishing equipment in the correct fashion.

Grab Your Bass Fishing Equipment

Bass fishing is responsible for some of the biggest angling tournaments in the world. It literally injects many thousands of dollars into small town communities fortunate enough to be associated with these fishing extravaganzas. It's like the old story "if we build it they will come."

Bass fishing tournaments are a little like that. Anglers will virtually "walk across hot coals" to participate. And why not with some of the huge incentives on offer.

Bass are said to be an intelligent fish. Smart, clever and elusive. Maybe this is the main reason bass fishing attracts a crowd of anglers. A little like the courting game... the harder and more frustrating it is, the harder we chase. Who knows. I do know one thing though, when bass fishing gets into your system, it's mighty hard to get it out.

Bass Fishing Tips

When it comes down to learning actual bass fishing tips and techniques there are many aspects that need to be learned, understood and mastered. For example, in terms of bait you will need to understand more about grubs, tube baits, soft jerkbaits and plastic worms while in so far as the techniques are concerned you will need to learn about doodling, night fishing, playing the fish, casting principles, and also flipping and pitching.

Furthermore, there are bass fishing tips and techniques that you need to understand in regard to hardbaits as well as bass fishing equipment. In case of hardbaits you have to learn about using jigs, topwaters, crankbaits, spinnerbaits and vibrating lures as well as jigging spoons and also swimming spoons. In regard to equipment, you have much to learn about including about proper knots, rods, reels, fishing line, and tackle boxes as well as depthfinders.

There is much to learn in regard to smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing. To make use of any bass fishing tips you will need to first of all understand just what kind of fish bass is and then you have to learn other things such as its feeding habits and its temperament. In addition, you have to learn which spots will offer you a better chance of catching these predators and which kind of diving crankbaits will prove to be more effective when angling for bass in larger bodies of water.

Bass fishing in Alabama; bass fishing in Florida; bass fishing in California: it doesn't matter where it is, as long as there's a bass to be fished, anglers will don their bass fishing gear and cast a line.

A bass fishing tournament can bring out the best and worst in people. Just like any sporting contest you'll have those who simply won't hear of defeat while others are simply happy to be there to enjoy the outing.

Which category do you fall under? Professional bass fishing tournaments aside, competing in contests open to amateur anglers is certainly no picnic if you are serious about making an impact and walking away with any of the prizes.

Angler vs. Bass

There is plenty of pressure in a bass fishing tournament for those anglers competing but did you ever give any thought to the fact the bass being hunted also feel the pressure?

It's something many anglers overlook. Bass a predators by nature and are pretty smart fish as well. When a crowd suddenly converges on a lake or waterway somewhere in large numbers, they are going to make some extra noise.

Bass can sense that somehow they are now the ones being hunted and this is what separates a good angler from an average one. On a waterway that is not used to high, concentrated activity for most of the year and then suddenly plays host to hundreds of fishermen under tournament conditions, the impact on fish biting can be quite dramatic.

For tournaments run over several days, it's a given just about everyone will catch a fish of some description on the first day. But things can taper off significantly over the following days simply because the bass are responding to the pressure being applied to them.

A good angler will start to change things up a bit; use different bait... use natural looking bait, try a combination of slow retrieve and provocation tactics, change spots, take note of where they are getting most of their bites, be careful not to make too much noise or even throwing their shadows over their targeted areas.

In other words, when the biting slows down to a trickle these anglers have back up plans they put into motion. They won't always work but it's a case of patience and perseverance and while others are considering heading back to shore for some light refreshment, these guys and gals simply don't give up.

In most cases, that's what separates a successful angler from an average one during a bass fishing tournament. The ability to up the pressure on a fish which is already reeling from plenty of pressure anyway.

The bass is one of the most popular fish in North America and this bass fishing guide seeks to help beginners understand how to choose bait for the sport of bass fishing. When it comes to bass fishing, different bait is needed throughout the day to get the best fishing results.

Bass move throughout the day and so at each part of the day - morning, noon and evening - a fisherman will need to adjust his bait accordingly. In the morning buzz baits, spinner baits and plastic worms that stay near the surface are best. During the middle of the day bass go deeper in the water, seeking cover, so the best bait to use at this time is bait that can go deep towards the bottom. A fisherman may consider using a weight to help get the depth. Later in the day the bass move back towards the surface and the same bait used in the morning will work well.

Plastic bait comes in bright colors that attract the fish. Different colors may get a different response in different areas and on different days. There is also natural colored bait, but this bait is usually for those who are more patient, as they do not attract the bass as quickly as the colored bait. The best method of choosing the colors to use is to just give it a try and see what works best.

Bass fishing is most often done with plastic bait, but it is possible to use live bait. With live bait it is generally reasonable to expect that the more bait used the bigger fish that will be caught. Crawfish, shiners, grubs and night crawlers are all good live bait choices for bass fishing.

In general, it is a good idea to seek out the assistance of fellow fishermen to see what's working on any given day.

When bass fishing is concerned, it is important to understand the habits of the fish. This will help a fisherman choose the best fishing spots and the best bait to use. Having a good understanding of the area can also help and asking fellow fishermen is also a great way to make the fishing experience the best. This bass fishing guide is only a guide to what bait generally works best. Each area will have its own methods that work best, which is why instead of using a bass fishing guide, asking around is always the best method to catching bass.

Whether you are a beginning bass fisherman, or a seasoned bass fishing tournament professional, you need basic fishing tackle for your tackle box.

There are lots of lures that you can use for different lakes and weather and water conditions. However, some lures will work regardless of the weather or water conditions or water temperature.

A crank bait works best when it is deflected off of the bass holding structure. It could be logs, docks, rocks or what ever structure you are fishing. The key is the interrupted action and the deflection caused by hitting the structure. Sometimes a short hesitation after striking the object will help draw strikes. Always vary your retrieve with crank baits until you start getting strikes. Most times a crank and pause retrieve will out fish a straight retrieve. Many good crank bait anglers will fish the lure more with the rod than the reel. They will pull the lure forward by sweeping the rod in stop and go motion and take up line as the rod is moved forward to repeat the process. This method improves the feel of the lure and gives you many options in speed and action of the crank bait.

A bass fishing tournament can bring out the best and worst in people. Just like any sporting contest you'll have those who simply won't hear of defeat while others are simply happy to be there to enjoy the outing.

Once hunted for food, bass has grown into a multi million dollar business and is essentially hunted for sport today.

If you've never fished before, you'll even be given a solid understanding of how and when to apply your bass fishing equipment in the correct fashion.

Bass Fishing Tips

It is really exciting to be talking about stuff that can pump your adrenaline and make you feel the josh. After a hectic week, the weekend is quite a treat for all you guys. Just pack up and move on to Ocala Florida.

Even the trip will be marked by a series of discussions about the warm weather and the big bass.

Ocala Florida is a place like none other. This makes your fishing weekend a much more memorable one. Just prepare yourself for the unexpectedly pleasant weekend. Keep a couple of friends and family mates by your side to keep your mood high. Not all people see bass fishing as a way to relax, there are a few who do it on a purpose. The big bass competition is fast approaching and anglers are preparing themselves for this exciting competition.

Keep these points in mind before hitting Ocala Florida:

Make sure that you have defined your fishing goals and ensure that the time you spend here is spent in a very worthy manner.

Most of the fishermen set their goals before hitting Ocala Florida; their sole aim is to catch bass fish that is over ten odd pounds. Fishing for that amount of bass will take forever, especially for all the novice fellows there. Several hours will not suffice to find that catch!

Though your decision to come over to Florida for bass fishing was right, just a couple of hours of work will not give you what you ask for. You may think that eight hours of toiling in water will not give you even one half of what you are looking for, but, its not so!

The Florida Fishing Commission has made a list of price catchments every year and they narrow down the list from the experience that they have gained and they will conduct the tournament only in those lakes. In history, Ocala Florida has never been left out in that list.

The main areas around the Ocala Florida are:

LAKE GEORGE

Lake George is the premier largemouth fishing lake here in Florida. It has many natural lakes. Its vegetation is rich, and is price catchments for bass. Fishing here with shiners is one of the best methods to succeed and steal the trophy off others. The Juniper is the hot spot on that lake.

STICK MARSH/FARM 13 RESERVOIR

The Stick Marsh was created in the year 1987, this place is one of the best when it comes to championship bass fishing. This place is a vast area extending up to 6500 acres of reservoir, close to Fellsmere, which lies to the west of Vero Beach. The biologists from the FCW have predicted great bass catchments in the upcoming years. The electrofishing continues to show good growth in bass in the reservoir.

The anglers are efficient enough to locate bass anywhere across the reservoir leaving the other habitats like woody stump fields, hydrilla and submerged canals. The quantity of hydrilla in the reservoir was affected by the hurricane that surfaced in the year 2004. the golden shiners are the best option when it comes to catch trophy bass. Anglers go for these wild shiners all the time.

This whole area has been developed ever since the competition started happening. There are parking lots, rest rooms, picnic spots and what not. Gas, food, other recreational stuff are also available here.

These lakes are known for the bass fishing tournaments, and where the future tournaments can be held. Keep yourself equipped, and stay alert, for you might just astonish others and yourself with your bass fishing skills.
